Q?

How Long Does The Process Take?

A.

In most residential projects, the process to conceptualize, design and the approval of drawings by the local authorities can take anything from 2 months to 6 months.  This timeline depends on the nature and size of the project and the client's input and response times.  Other factors that usually prolongs the process include items such as approvals by homeowner's associations, building lines and other townplanning applications.

As such and in order to save time, clients are advised to call for builder's quotes while awaiting the approval of plans by the authorities.  This ensure that construction can begin as soon as building plans are approved by the local authority.

The initial consultation is where we need to understand and discuss your requirements.  Archid will setup an appointment with you either at our offices in Fourways or at the site.  At this meeting we will discuss in detail your ideas and requirements and also to demonstrate our proficiency and experience in undertaking similar projects.  You will also be given time to ask questions or seek clarity on any aspect of the project.

After this meeting Archid will then prepare a fee proposal (quote) for the entire architectural services and to advise on the process and procedure to be followed in completing the work satisfactorily.  In the fee proposal, we will outline any thrid parties that will be required such as structural engineers, etc.  At Archid it's also standard practice to provide price indication for any such third parties so that our clients can be able to plan for any such costs before-hand.

Q?

Are you nice people to work with?

A.

Yes of course!  In fact most of our work comes through word of mouth and we don't wish it any other way.  Even years after when our clients undertake more work or move to develop other sites they look for us and call us..
